Air France A380

Air France A380

We had not planned to fly with an A380 when we booked  flights to Los Angeles last November. It was a pure coincidence.
We only figured it out when we printed the tickets and checked the itinerary few days before we left for California:

Flight number: AF066
Aircraft: Airbus A380 (!!!)
Paris (CDG) - Los Angeles (LAX)
Leaving at 10:30 am
Arriving at 01:10 pm

That was excitng!

We arrived at CDG from TXL in the early morning. It doesn't matters what time you will arrive at CDG it is always full and chaotic (well, for European conditions). I knew that an A380 flies more than 500 passengers from A to B. I also knew that boarding takes a bit longer than usual, but almost an hour standing in line? Oh CDG. Howsoever it did not  terminate my excitement to fly an A380 and be in sunny California in few hours.

The cabin of the economy class was spacious and offers more space. The take off was smooth and less noisy. A nice start.

AF offers a wide range of entertainment options, always a great time killer for an eleven and a half hours flight.

Our personal highlight flying with an AF A380? A self-service sky bar.
Snacks and (non-alcoholic) beverages as much as you like! They even had sliced fruits and ice cream in the fridge.

Later when we exchanged our first experience with friends, we learned that a self-service sky bar is not  established in every A380. Well, other airlines have different standards.

I am looking forward to flying an A380 hopefully this year again.

Cheers from Berlin.
