Miradouro de Santa Catarina

[Miradouro de Santa Catarina]

Miradouro de Santa Catarina (locals also calls it "Adamastor") is one of the famous viewpoints in Lisbon. This place was the first I wanted to see on our first day in Lisbon. Loved by the young bohemian and the alternative and reggae singing types of folks. This vista point has a phenomenal panorama of the Tagus river, the 25th Abril bridge and the Rio imitation "Christo Rei". Enjoy this place with an ice cold and cheap beer from the little kiosk/bar during Lisbon's very own Lusco Fusco - the blue hour - which is the span of twilight between sunset and night.

Miradouros
Lisbon was built on seven hills facing the Tagus River.  The highest point of each hill is called Miradouro (viewpoint). Every local has their own favourite, you have to discover your own like I did. During our 7 day Lisbon vacation, I called the Miradouro da Graça and Miradouro de Saõ Pedro de Alcantara my favourite places to take time to relax and contemplate.

More about my Lisbon vacation and my favourite Miradouros with the next coming posts.
