About Mt. Pinatubo during Rain Season

Rain, rain....
Pinatubo Spa Town
"Sometimes I'd like to quit;
Nothing ever seems to fit;
Hangin' around, nothing to do but frown;
Rainy days and Mondays always get me down"
- Rainy Days And Mondays by Capenters -

We decided to continue with our plan to visit Mt. Pinatubo (see also: Mount Pinatubo - Tousim Philippines) after Hundred Islands. We looked for a guided tour and found the website of Pinaykeypoint who offers tour packages incl. guide, entrance fee, transportation with a 4WD Jeep, lunch package etc. We contacted Juliet, the owner of the agency, via facebook and yahoo (ym: pinaykeypoint). She told us that the next available tour for Mt. Pinatubo for 12 pax (2,300php per person) will be in 3 days. Meeting point will be Capas in the early morning. Since there's nothing more to do and see in Pangasinan during rain, we decided to leave and booked that day tour in three days and prayed that it will stop to rain until then.  Well at least on the day we conquer Mr. Pinatubo. But where to stay the next two days? We opened the map in our LP and found out that Angeles City is not far from Capas and the next bigger city so far in that area. But at least it was a city where you can go around with a lot of options for the next two days. Before looking for an accommodation we first stop at Jollibee to get Kevin's Champ Burger...of course.

Hundred Islands National Park

Governor's Island
Because I can't remember all the details of our first trip to Pangasinan in 2009 anymore, I went to Kevin's old and inactive travel blog and decided to repost his view of our trip. We visited Hundred Islands right after Vigan.

Remember Algarve

Praia da Falésia

The Algarve with its glorious sunshine through the year and fine white sands is a perfect dream place. When my parents-in-law suggested to spend Christmas (2007) in the Algarve, my mom and I were on fire. For my mom and me it would be our first Portugal vacation and the idea to spent Christmas in the sun was just heavenly.

Vigan's Nostalgic Charm!

In 2009 when Kevin and I backpacked the Philippines together for the second time, Vigan City was on top of our list of places to see. Every time when we asked people who have visited Vigan before they've described it as "the most unique place in the Philippines" or as a "place like no other". Especially my friend Leo (a World Heritage Pro) recommended us to visit Vigan by all means when travelling Luzon. No wonder.

A Taste of Travel: Tongson's Royal Bibingka

As being the first in the Royal Bibingka industry, Tongson's is an "institution" in Vigan City and beyond. You can find their shop at Crisologo Street near Plaza Burgos and besides the Vigan Plaza Hotel.

A visual walk and first impression of Vigan by night.

Living Berlin: Chén Chè Teahouse

Chen Ché Teahouse Berlin
Leah, my friend from Frankfurt, surprised me with a call few weeks ago, she said: "Sis, I'll be with Ali (husband) and Mahmoud (brother in-law) in Berlin tomorrow and we'll stay for three days. Kailangan mag kita ta!" (We need to see!)".

Sunday's Favourite: Malagnang Festival

This picture was taken during the 5th Malagnang Festival (Mud Festival) in the Municipality of San Vicente in Palawan. Kevin and I were invited by our host Mike (owner of BlueCove Island Resort, Port Barton) to join him and his staff visiting this annual festival which is always held during the month of June.
